What is BIOPITCH?
BIOPITCH is an exciting pitch competition for seed and early-stage life science companies, providing a unique platform for innovative start-ups to connect with and pitch to top life science investors. Semi-Finalists will advance to the Florida Innovation Conference, Wednesday, October 14 to Friday, October 16 in Orlando.
BIOPITCH Categories
To recognize and support the diversity of innovation within the life sciences community BIOPITCH has three distinct categories:
- Florida Premier: Innovative life science companies headquartered in, incorporated in and/or registered to do business in Florida. $60,000 prize
- Emerging Forida: Entrants from Florida Universities, Incubators, or Research Institutes. $30,000 prize
- Future Florida: Companies headquartered outside of Florida. $10,000 prize
DEADLINE FOR ALL BIOPITCH APPLICATIONS 08/28/2026
Who Should Apply?
We are seeking applicants who are:
- Developing products in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, healthcare services, or plant/animal sciences.
- Seeking seed and early-stage funding.*
*Applicants must comply with all applicable securities laws in connection with any financing.
Why Participate?
- Exclusive Pitch Sessions: Selected companies will pitch to life science investors in open sessions at the innovation conference.
- High-Profile Exposure: Finalists will present during the General Session at the conference.

*Involvement in the BioPitch session allows for an opportunity to present your company’s business plan and highlight opportunities for investment to a panel of venture capitalists and angel investors. Participation does not represent an endorsement by BioFlorida nor guarantee funding.

2026 BIOPITCH DECK REQUIREMENTS
Last year’s conference saw over 515 participants and 50+ exhibitors. This year promises to be even bigger with:
- Streamlined programming representing Florida’s life science ecosystem.
- High-level keynotes from industry leaders.
- Enhanced BIOPITCH program with greater opportunities for innovation.
- Extended networking sessions to build meaningful connections.
OVERALL DECK:
- Was the slide deck compelling?
- Did the deck explain, in layman’s terms, the company’s value proposition?
- Did the deck make you want to find out more about the company?
DECK SPECIFICS:
- Had the right amount of business and science detail
- Explained why their management expertise/background is relevant
- Intellectual property position was clear
- Competitive advantage(s) were explained well
- Potential customers (and why they would buy) were listed
FUNDING TO DATE:
- Past developmental milestones
- Use of any past funding
- Sources of past funding
FUTURE FUNDING:
- Intended use of future funding
- Realistic identification of, and path to, exit
- Realistic estimate of exit timeline
The following guidelines have been provided to us by participating investors. Not following the recommended guidelines could disqualify your application from the competition.
- Only submit non-confidential decks as a PowerPoint Compatibility Mode file.
- Decks cannot contain more than 10 content slides (i.e. opening and last/contact slide do NOT count toward the total).
BioFlorida’s 2nd Annual Awards Celebration

All BioFlorida Members are eligible to be nominated and may be submitted by any member.
- Please submit only one nomination per form.
- You may submit additional forms for other award categories.
- Self nomination is permitted.
- Please ensure you complete all sections of the nomination form. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
- Deadline for nominations is August 14th.
